Playing Career
Bryan Corey (BC) was drafted by the Detroit Tigers in the 12th round of the 1993 MLB Draft. He transitioned from a position player to a pitcher early in his career. Corey made his Major League Baseball debut with the Arizona Diamondbacks on May 13, 1998. Over his MLB career, he played for several teams, including the Los Angeles Dodgers, Texas Rangers, Boston Red Sox and San Diego Padres. His MLB statistics include a 4–4 win–loss record, a 5.13 ERA, and 57 strikeouts. He was part of the 2007 World Series Champion Boston Red Sox.
Beyond MLB, Corey had international stints in Japan’s Nippon Professional Baseball (NPB) with the Yomiuri Giants(2004) and Chiba Lotte Marines,(NPB Champions-2010) in South Korea’s (KBO) League with the Lotte Giants(2011), and in Taiwan’s Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL) with the Lamigo Monkeys(2011). Bryan has accomplished a rare feat in baseball, being one of only 4 pitchers in the world to record a Win in MLB, NPB (Japan), KBO (Korea) and CPBL (Taiwan).
Coaching & Scouting Career
After retiring as a player, Corey transitioned into scouting and coaching. He served as a Major League Advance Scout for the Cleveland Indians from 2013 to 2014 and as a Four Corners Scout for the Milwaukee Brewers from 2015 to 2016.
In 2017, Corey began his professional coaching career with the Oakland Athletics organization. He has held various positions, including pitching coach for the Vermont Lake Monsters(2017), Stockton Ports(2018/2022) and Las Vegas Aviators(2023/24). As of 2025, he serves as the Minor League Pitching Rehab Coordinator for the Athletics, a role he previously held in 2021.
After retiring as a player, BC has dedicated himself to developing baseball talent at every level. He has coached youth club teams (ages 10–18), instilling fundamentals in mechanics, performance habits and the mental approach needed to excel for high school and college athletes, he offers personalized consulting—covering everything from mechanical tune‑ups and mental-game strategies to scouting insight and multi‑level development plans aimed at reaching the next level (high school, college, or pro). Above all, Corey emphasizes injury prevention and high‑level competition, helping each player stay healthy, maximize their skills, and perform at their best every time they step on the field.
BC IS MOSTLY PROUD OF THE FACT THAT HE HAS NOT HAD ANY ARM INJURIES OR SURGERIES IN OVER 32 YEARS IN PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL….
